More Than Piano Lessons
We do not simply train pianists. We form complete musicians - students who understand what they play, hear what they play, and are able to make music together with other people.
From the very first years a child learns to read the score and to think in harmony at the same time. Technique and imagination grow together, so that music becomes a language the student truly speaks - not a set of pieces memorised for an exam.

Chords & Ear Training
The living side of music: hearing a chord and naming it, harmonising a melody, accompanying a singer, improvising and playing what you hear.
These two skills are developed at the same time, from the earliest years - this is what makes our students free at the instrument.
From the lesson to the church
Where the Lessons Lead
From early on, our students play together with singers, violinists, other instruments and small ensembles.
The goal is not only that a child can perform a piece from the score. It is that they can accompany congregational singing, play in a small group, make music with their parents at home - and in time take a real part in the musical ministry of their church.

The author's method
Called to Play for Him
A step-by-step system by Oleksandr Savchenko for learning chords, harmony, playing by ear and accompaniment.
The method takes a student from the very first chord to free, confident accompaniment. Each level combines a book, a workbook and a complete video course, so the material can be studied in a lesson and practised at home.

Meet the founder
Oleksandr Savchenko, PhD

Oleksandr Savchenko is a pianist, conductor, composer and educator with a doctorate in music. He is the founder of Piano Art Academy and the author of the Called to Play for Him method.
He teaches every student personally. Over the years his students have gone on to accompany singers and ensembles, to play in church, and to continue their music education professionally.
Full biography
A graduate of a conservatoire piano and conducting programme, Oleksandr has performed as a soloist and accompanist, conducted choirs and instrumental ensembles, and written music for choir, piano and small ensembles. Alongside performing, he has taught piano, theory, harmony and conducting for more than two decades, and developed the Called to Play for Him system out of that classroom experience.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
From what age do you accept students?
Usually from about five or six years old, but it depends on the child rather than the birthday. During the first meeting we look at attention span, hand development and interest, and decide together whether it is the right moment to begin.
Does my child need previous experience?
No. Most students start from zero. Adults and teenagers who have played before are equally welcome - the programme is built around the level you actually have.
Do you really teach reading and chords at the same time?
Yes, and from the very beginning. Reading gives the classical foundation, chords and ear training give freedom. Taught together from an early age, they support each other instead of competing.
How do online lessons work?
Over video, with a camera positioned so the hands and the keyboard are clearly visible. Materials, recordings and assignments are shared after every lesson. Many of our students study online full time.
Do I need my own instrument?
Yes - daily practice is what makes progress possible. An acoustic piano is ideal; a good digital piano with weighted, full-size keys is a perfectly acceptable start.
Do students have to play in church?
No. The academy prepares students who wish to serve with their music, and that direction is important to us, but every student is taught as a complete musician regardless of where they choose to play.
How long is the waitlist?
It varies through the year. There is one teacher, so places open gradually. We contact people in the order their requests arrive.
